Happy 4th of July!

Writer's picture: JessicaJessica

I hope everyone had an excellent week! For everyone that celebrates the 4th of July, I hope you had a wonderful holiday! We didn't do much, mainly just chilling. Tsuki enjoyed watching from the window the fireworks our neighbors across the street lit up. I was surprised that the noise didn't bother her, but the louder ones the city set off freaked her out more. It was her first 4th of July with us, so I was curious to see how she'd handle it. Tsuki did really well. I hope you had a wonderful time, however you spent the day.

My dream recall was kind of fuzzy on Monday morning. There was something about being with my siblings. My sister wanted to beat up my brother because he was annoying her. I got a random check in the mail for over $12,000. We seemed younger. We seemed to have Christmas candy for some reason. The cat wanted to eat my sister's chocolate-covered candy cane while one of my brothers had the dog bone candy. I had a regular candy cane and offered it to the cat. More happened, and at one point someone I apparently knew (although I had no idea who they were upon waking) wanted to know if I'd go to a D&D meeting with them i said, "Sure," not seeing a reason not to. We went up some stairs of some building where the meeting apparently was. The individual (I think it was a guy) handed me a paper for me to look over and went about preparing. The sheet was more motivating rather than informative. I finished reading it and had no idea what to do. There was something about cards, but I didn't know where to get them or what they were for. The other person finished setting up I guess and was going to visit with friends after checking in with me. They asked of I was all set up, and I replied that I had no idea what to do since I had never played. This surprised them, and they tried to figure out how to give me a quick crash course because it was apparently going to start soon. More might have happened, but that's all I could remember when I woke up.

My dream recall on Wednesday morning was pretty hazy. At one point April's mom asked for me to go to Strange Donuts with her. When we got there, it turned out to be some kind of deli/eatery. She wanted some kind of deli sandwich, but I think they were sold out. Later there was something about this small group of people out exploring and getting stopped by this creepy being. They could tell that it was no good, so they tried to scare it off/defend themselves. Whatever it was seemed to have like a forcefield or barrier, so nothing would reach it. It summoned zombies or something. More might have happened, but I think I woke up after that.

My dream recall was incredibly fuzzy when I woke up on Thursday. I knew plenty happened, but specific details eluded me. My dream recall was pretty murky on Friday morning. There was something about reviewing, but I couldn't remember specifics. My dream recall was hazy again when I woke up on Saturday morning. There was something about sculptures and Bleach. I think they were of the different variations of Ichigo Kurosaki, but specifics eluded me in the waking world.

It was another fun week of babysitting. The older brother started his online PE class, so we worked on that. So far, it's pretty simple, but the essay on Friday was pretty serious. He did not want to write it, but after 2 hours, we got it done. He joked that Naraku would have written an essay about bees. The boys and I enjoyed discussing games, Pokémon, InuYasha, anime, memes, and what-if scenarios. In their friend group chat, they were deliberating over this "would you rather" type scenario; there's $10,000 up for grab, but if you take it, there's a snail that will relentlessly pursue you. Said snail cannot die, but if it ever catches you, you die. I asked if the snail happened to have turbo speed or not, but it's just a regular snail. I mused that you could probably set up a security system so that you could sleep; one of the friends apparently decided that they would get a private jet so the snail couldn't reach them. Apparently, it's like a crazy smart snail, though, because the boys told me that it could crash a plane into your private jet. It's definitely an interesting what-if scenario to consider. I doubt I ever would have thought of it on my own. Next week will be pretty interesting; they're getting ready to move and will be staying in a hotel on Monday night. Working on the PE class will definitely be different, working from a hotel. Life is full of the unexpected. We also talked about all the latest shenanigans of Tsuki (she's always full of antics).

Tsuki was her typical nutty self this week. She enjoyed watching fireworks from the window on Monday, which I found somewhat surprising. She really enjoyed the colors. Tsuki spent a lot of the week snoozing on chairs, watching birds/squirrels/rabbits from the window, chasing after bells, playing with toys, chasing bugs, and enjoying the porch. She even spent a lot of the day on Saturday watching the rain since there were lots of major storms.

I got a surprise on Saturday; my aunt stopped by with a free sun pretzel and Hot Cash for Hot Topic. Someone had apparently canceled the order, and she didn't want to throw it away. She also had nothing she wanted to buy at Hot Topic, so she didn't want it to go to waste, giving it to me to use. I hadn't planned on buying anything, but I ended up buying some new anime pins (Sesshomaru, Shippo, and a Hikaru and Kaoru pair) as well as some gifts. I'm excited for my new goodies! I'm super appreciative to my aunt for thinking of me!

The technical issues have been resolved, so I'm able to publish the articles I've been writing again! I'm super excited! The articles for this week included:

I wrote a new poem this week, so feel free to check it out and share your thoughts. I'm also open to suggestions and recommendations for future writing pieces! I have other works in progress, so stay tuned for more stories!

I watched the rest of Spy x Family, and I absolutely loved it! I wish more episodes were out because I adore their little family, forged as it may be. I'm eager to see how they continue the story and how adding a dog to the mix will impact things. Since everyone else in the family has special abilities, it makes me wonder if there will be something special about the dog (it almost seemed like the one dog had precognition). I think I heard somewhere that the next part will release in October, so I'm excited for that!

I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their weekend. This year (and the previous two) has been all over the place and full of the unexpected. I suspect life will keep throwing curveballs at us, but I'd like to think we've grown and have better adapted to change since all of this began. Next week will be interesting with babysitting because the family will be in the middle of moving to their new home and staying in a hotel for a few days. Their parents kept apologizing for it, especially since it will make completing the one son's online PE class tricky, but I see no point in getting bent out of shape over it. It won't change anything. Sure, it's not the preferred situation, but it's temporary. We'll work our way through it, and then they'll be in their bigger home that's closer to the boys' new school. It might be a bit bumpy, but we'll reach the end destination. It'll be okay.

The same goes for any other challenges life throws at us. It might not be our preference, but that doesn't make it the end of the world. Some days will be more challenging than others, but we will persevere. We may stumble, take a detour, or end up backtracking a bit, but that's okay. There's no need to rush. Do the best you can, find joy in the little things, and identify reasons to smile and laugh. Our mindset makes a world of a difference, and our mindset is completely our choice. It's okay to have off days and to be upset. It's okay to get angry or throw a fit. Work through your frustrations and allow your emotions. Don't bottle them up and try to bury them. Allow yourself to feel whatever is coming up and embrace the flow. Everything will work out in the end. Life is a journey full of learning and growth. Overcome the obstacles in your path and see just how much you've grown! Have fun, take time to relax, and focus on being the best you you can be this week! If you do your best, there's no need to worry. You can only do you're best, after all. Stay blessed with love and light, everyone~
