Happy April!

I hope everyone is doing well and that life is treating you kindly! It's been incredibly stormy here lately with excessive rain (places have experienced flash flooding, tornadoes, etc.). All the storms have made it a bit chaotic, but as they say, April showers bring May flowers--the flowers and plants won't grow without the rain, so even some intense storms can result in good. No matter what storms life may be throwing your way (whether literal or metaphorical), know that life can use it all for your benefit; while it may be unpleasant to experience in the moment, struggles and hardships can make you stronger, introduce you to new people, and give you incredible blessings that you're able to see clearly in hindsight. Do your best to take things day by day, step by step, remember to breathe, and do what you can to weather the storms. No storm lasts forever, and at the end of it, you can be gifted beautiful rainbows.

The boys had a busy week of school, full of assignments, projects, and quizzes. They super excited about the Nintendo Switch 2 upcoming release, eagerly discussing the Nintendo Direct and new games coming out; their parents aren't impressed with the price tag, though, with their dad asking if it's coated in gold or something, The boys are also ecstatic for Tuesday since they have no school due to voting and schools being polling places; I'm sure they'll make the most of the time off.

Tsuki also enjoyed life in the usual ways, although she was disappointed I was away Thursday afternoon through Saturday evening for house and pet sitting for my aunt. I did make sure that I saw her each day, but she's used to me being around a lot more and missed hanging out with me during the night on Thursday and Friday. Tsuki was so excited to see me when I got back on Saturday, racing up to see me and purring quite loudly. Otherwise, the week was full of cozy cat naps, birdwatching, snuggling, and playful antics and shenanigans.

Remember to be gentle with yourself as you navigate the twists and turns of life; do your best to show up as your best self and forgive yourself for the past--you didn't know then what you know now. Now that you know better, you can do better. Live a life you can be proud of, one where you don't look back and feel so many regrets. The only thing you can control is how you choose to show up in the world, so let go of trying to control external factors; there are better ways to spend your time and energy. People will choose what they choose; they will show you their true colors, so believe them and stop letting the wrong people in. Even though there are those out there that will mistreat and hurt you, that doesn't mean everyone will; don't let the bad apples ruin it for you--the right people are out there wanting to love, support, and grow with you. Focus on maintaining and prioritizing your inner joy, peace of mind, hope, and well-being--you don't have to give your power away. You get to decide who you are, and you can decide who and what gets your time, energy, attention, and care; spend it on those that will reciprocate and want healthy relationships. By focusing on yourself and your well-being rather than what you cannot control, you will go so much farther. Take care, fill your own cup, and have a wonderful rest of your weekend!
