September Brings Cooler Fall Weather

I hope you're all doing well and have been able to enjoy beautiful weather. September has brought much cooler weather with it, and it feels like fall--it's been great enjoying the beautifully breath-taking weather and fresh air. So much better than the heatwaves August had. Tsuki has appreciated the cooler weather, too, hanging out near open windows and out on the porch.

I was a bit sleepy when I woke up Monday morning. My dream was a bit odd from what I could recall. The first part involved this really popular guy that this village loved; he seemed to be good at everything and super helpful. He ended up vanishing and getting stuck in this other dimension and world with one of his friends. They had been traveling, and it's like they stumbled across this dimensional space rift or something. They ended up somewhere that looked pretty hellish. They found a friend/guide in the new location. The guy decided to take a risk and find a way out. Since the other two were unsure, he volunteered to act as a guinea pig and test out the escape route since they didn't know if it was a safe way to travel, promising to come back for them if it proved safe. He managed to make it out safe and sound and ended up back at the village. In his absence the village didn't do so hot, as the villagers seemed to heavily rely on the guy. His assistance with this bakery seemed pivotal, and the staff seemed lost without him. This new group had come in and tried to take over things; they were convinced he was some kind of monster or something and didn't want the other villagers to know about him. The guy just wanted to get some supplies so the other two would have an easier time escaping. He went back and rescued the other two, and they were so relieved to see him safe. The new group of people had followed him, though, and were convinced that he was going after treasure or power or something. They ended up sucked up into the dimensional space rift.

More happened, but details got fuzzy. The last thing I could remember was going over to watch my grandma's house for some reason. I ended up watching some anime for a bit, but there seemed to be some jump in time; the clocks said it was almost 3 in the morning yet it was super sunny outside. I was perplexed but decided to go to bed. My cousin Caleb showed up, too. There was something about him getting a ride to work. More happened, but that's all I was able to remember once awake.

I was a bit tempted to go back to sleep Tuesday morning, but it wasn't too strong. That being said, my dream recall was incredibly fuzzy, and I wasn't able to remember any specific details. I could remember more when I woke up Wednesday morning. It involved school; from what I could remember it involved school. One of my middle school math teachers was there teaching a class. There was something about signing up for some kind of meeting or conference after school. I think there might have been like some kind of competition or contest, too, but details got murky. More happened, but that's all I could remember. It was a bit of a struggle getting up Thursday morning, but I wasn't surprised about it since I had stayed up late helping a friend (4 hours of sleep will do that to a person). Dream recall was incredibly hazy, but I think it somehow involved school again. Not sure about specific details, though. I almost accidentally fell back asleep on Friday morning; waking up was a bit rough, and dream recall was a complete blur.

It was quite nice being able to sleep in an relax Saturday morning. While my dream recall was a bit fuzzy, I remembered quite a bit more. There was some kind of family gathering/meet up. I think we might have been at my grandma's house for a bit, but I think we ended up at some kind of hotel later. There was some kind of discussion (and I think April and Iris showed up). At one point, I made a comment/joke about something being "trifficult" (in reference to Bingo in Bluey). There was some kind of scavenger hunt we were supposed to go on. My youngest brother was really gung-ho about it but seemed to struggle with the clues. The final clue led to looking behind some kind of painting or something, but he seemed oblivious to his surroundings, not seeing the wrapped presents behind it. I pointed it out to him, and it looked like the gifts were for me and my siblings. Not sure what for or why the scavenger hunt was such a big deal. More probably happened, but that's everything I could remember once I woke up.

I was able to sleep in again this morning and relax, which was quite nice. From what I could remember, my dream involved education/being at some kind of school. When I first spotted the classroom, I think it had been about herbs/herbal potions or something. Not entirely sure, but the classroom shifted to be a more traditional classroom. The class then seemed to be about mental health. I ended up changing seats the various times I was at the class. We were supposed to create a clay/ceramics projects for some reason. I ended up making a sea turtle. It was taking me longer to finish my project than the other students (I'm guessing it's because it was a "regular" class not an art class full of people with art backgrounds, so the other students weren't so detailed oriented or something). A sub showed up for some reason and started telling me he couldn't accept my project because it was late and that I'd be lucky if I would get 80% of what it would have originally be graded at. He wasn't particularly kind. The real teacher ended up showing up mid-way through the class, and she loved my project, excited that I made a sea turtle and not even the slightest bit concerned about how long it was taking me. The fire alarm started going off, but I went to wash my hands because I didn't want to have clay covered hands. After I washed my hands, I went to grab my jacket to join the others, but it turned out to be a false alarm as everyone was already returning to their classes. When I was satisfied with my project, I went to turn in my project to the real teacher, and she was excited but told me to take it to the ceramics room to get fired. It was frustrating because there wasn't enough time between classes to do so, and I didn't want to carry it around with me all day incase it would get messed up or broken. More might have happened, but that's all I could remember.

The boys were excited to have Monday off from school, enjoying a long weekend. It was a pretty typical week, otherwise, though. The older brother got frustrated with the school dismissal traffic, the younger brother struggled to get up for his early morning swim practice, their dogs were nutty together, they'd rather be chilling on their electronics, etc. They did discuss Disney, Pixar, video games, and shows with me, though. The older brother in particular is super excited that this year is the Nightmare Before Christmas' 30th anniversary.

I did end up hanging out with one of my friends and going on long walks to help process everything we've been going through (there's been plenty of drama and complications that have popped up over the summer months). I also ended up going to my younger cousin's birthday party, and she was super excited for the Bluey gifts I got/made for her as well as the crystals. She has quite the growing collection, and exclaimed, "This space rock is my favorite. And this one, and this one, and this one--they're all my favorites!" It was pretty funny watching her open her gift, as she kept exclaiming, "WHAT?!" in excitement. When my aunt was telling her about the search and find Bluey book called "Where's Bluey?", my cousin didn't quite grasp that it was the title, and she replied, "In my room." (because she her room filled with Bluey things). It was quite precious, and I was glad I could bring some joy to her life.

Tsuki loved the cooler weather, savoring the fresh air and crisp breeze. She enjoyed plenty of cozy cat naps on the couch, her window shelf, and her chair. Tsuki had a blast playing, darting around the house, getting into all sorts of shenanigans, and being a goof. She also enjoyed lounging while birdwatching at the window. It was a pretty chill week, and Tsuki savored every bit of it.

Artwork for the week included more diamond art as well as the Bluey Perler bead keychain I made for my cousin:

Make sure to take care of yourself because health is wealth. Sometimes it can be easier said than done, but there's nothing wrong with taking time for some TLC and to prioritize your own needs. You are worthy. You deserve it just by being yourself. Take time to rest and relax when you need it; your to-do list isn't going anywhere. Snuggle with your pet, chat with friends, play a game, sit down to get cozy with a good book, listen to the sounds of nature, soak up some sunshine and fresh air--do whatever it is that brings you joy and helps rejuvenate your soul. Your performance levels will be so much greater when your life is more balanced and you have taken time to meet your needs. Be gentle with yourself, listen to your heart, find reasons for joy, laughter, and gratitude, and just be yourself. You're going to do just fine. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

Food for thought for the week:
